Wisconsin Trip

So we went to Wisconsin for a wedding (Matt's cousin) and got to spend some time with both families. It was great to see everyone and I really wish we all lived closer together. Mitch had a great time with his cousins and grandparents, aunts and uncles. We miss you all!!!!

Playing with Gabrielle...

...and Grandpa got caught up in the fun too!

Mitch with Grandma M.

Here's Mitch and mom at the Racine Zoo

This is Mitch roaring at the lion. It was pretty cool, the lion and the tiger were roaring back and forth at eachother and then MItch joined in!

Besides the lion I think the slide was Mitch's favorite feature of the zoo. Here he is with Grandpa M. catching him at the bottom.

Wheee!

After a few days in Racine we went up to Slinger to Grandma and Grandpa G's. Grandma and Mitch spent lots of time outside. Here they are walking along the pier.

Mitch got all dressed up for the wedding in his suit. Grandma G also emptied out a suitcase for him to pull around (which he did every day up and down the hallway). I love this picture because he looks like a little business man!

I was really excited for Mitch to dance now that he's really good at walking but he was soooo tired that he was falling asleep on my shoulder! We danced a little bit but we made it an early night (for us, late night for him).

Mitch also had a great time meeting Great Grandma and Great Grandpa.

One giant posting

Okay, here it is...I have been a big slacker when it comes to posting and with no good excuse other than life gets busy. So, here, in no particular order, are some pictures of what we've been up to since August. Also there will be more to come hopefully soon.

Here are some pictures from my cousin, Kelly's wedding in Grand Rapids.

All four sisters posing in the bathroom--NOT naked though the strapless dresses make it look like we are.

We had another wedding to attend the next weekend in Walla Walla, WA-we camped overnight (Mitch and mom slept in the truck while Dad and friends were in tents). Here we are just hanging out.

Getting dressed in the truck the next morning

Now for just some random cute pictures of Mitch doing regular ol' stuff.

Sitting in the living room, looking out the window

Climbing up the stairs (naked, obviously)

Standing in the crib (naked again)

Sleeping. You can see how long ago these pics were taken, Mitch was napping in only a diaper because it was so hot! Now we have the heat on and he wears fleece pj's!

Drinking milk...this was to document the curling hair before we cut off his mullet!

Here's Mitch waiting for his first haircut-Dad went first and there wasn't anyone else there so Mitch got to run around and play with the brooms.

...and lay on the floor

Not quite sure what's going on, but sitting sort of still at first

Tired of sitting, now standing on the chair to finish the cut.

Mitch is 1 year old

Here's Mitch on his actual birthday, before going to school. I think this might be our last elephant picture as it was not easy to get him to sit still for this!

After school/work, it was SOOO hot; Mitch ran around in his diaper, playing with balloons.

Happy First Birthday to Mitch!!!!!

Mitch and Elliot getting used to the sprinkles from the pool.

So we got Mitch a kiddie pool for his birthday...it's pretty cool, has lots of inflatable parts and little fountains that shoot water if you keep the hose turned on. His party was on a very hot day and even some of the adults were hanging out in the pool.

Birthday hats are a must and Mitch kept his on long enough so we could take a few photos.

Mitch got a Valentines Day card from Grandma and Grandpa M with Winnie-the-Pooh on it. It's been on our refrigerator and Mitch just loves it. He plays with it, reaches for it, I'm not sure we'll ever be able to get rid of it even though by now it has ripped in half and is very bent. So because he loves it so much I decided to make a cake with the same picture on it and I think it turned out pretty good. It did take a long time but it was worth it!

I think Mitch thought he would be able to hold the cake like he holds the Winnie-the-Pooh card so we had to go back inside to get the card for him to have to avoid a giant mess and assure there would be some cake to eat!

Trying some frosting

Not too sure about the whole cake-thing...he ate a few bites and then signed "all done". He did want to eat more when he saw mom and dad eating some though! No smashing or making a big mess this time, maybe next year...

Mom's birthday/Mitch's baptism weekend

So, our new favorite toys are large boxes that Mitch can crawl inside of.

Mitch and Mom playing outside. We've had beautiful weather lately with lots of sunshine.

Mitch turned 11 months old on my birthday...we couldn't get him to sit still very long but here he is holding his elephant that he usually poses next to.

He also was baptized on the same day and here he is sitting next to the elephant in his fancy schmancy outfit. We went out for breakfast after the baptism and this was the first time he was ever mistaken for a girl!!!

The oil in his hair from the baptism made for some excellent hair styles!

Here we are after church, Mitch with his page-boy hat!

The family by the baptismal font. Mitch didn't cry when he was baptized though did come close. The night before he got sunscreen in his eyes and we had to hold him down in the same position to flush his eyes out. I think he was a little scared we were going to do that again. He actually fussed more when we were trying to get him into this outfit!

Awesome cake for my birthday, made by my loving husband!
