Meeting Grandma and Grandpa

Grandma and Grandpa (Kate's parents) came to visit when Mitchell was a little over a week old. Photo ops were best when he was sleeping as you can see. We went shopping a few times, beginning to realize how long it takes to leave the house with a baby! We also watched a lot of Olympics and the grandparents were trying to decide which sport Mitchell would play...no pressure though! The visit was wonderful, but too short, as they usually are.

Home from the hospital

Mitchell's first encounter with a dog...Charlotte and the cats have been very good so far with the baby, including all the screaming, though Charlotte gets worried and tries to help which actually makes things a little bit harder. I'm sure she'll learn with time!

It's a boy!!!!

Just arriving to the hospital, contractions not yet bad enough that we could stop to take some pictures!

So, we arrived at the hospital at around 10 am Monday, July 28th, had been having contractions since 3:30 in the morning; at 8:22 pm we found out our surprise was a boy!

Mom and baby the next day, just beginning to bond!

Here he is...Mitchell Christopher Geiger! He weighed 8lbs 3 oz and was 20 inches long. Yelling as soon as he came out, very healthy and as I like to brag about, had an Apgar score of 9/10!

After a very long and sleepless night, finally going home!
